ARTIFICIAL BLOOM

With the aim to explore the intersection between the abilities of the designer and artificial intelligence, the project combines the craft of weaving with the cutting-edge possibilities of AI. While all three textiles feature the same floral motif (the camellia flower), the use of AI technology progressively intensifies from the first to the third piece, resulting in an increase in abstraction. Through this process, the project transcends conventional design boundaries and blurs the lines between the digital and physical world.

The project features three large-scale textiles, each measuring 150cmx150cm, meticulously woven on a TC2 loom. A significant aspect of the process involved developing custom bindings for the weave, allowing for precise control over the patterns and structures. This deliberate approach to craftsmanship resulted in the creation of intricate and visually captivating textile designs. The utilization of the TC2 loom and the careful selection of bindings contributed to the production of high-quality textiles that exemplify a seamless integration of traditional techniques with contemporary artistry.
